Coaches and Training
All teams are allocated a coach to help them improve and enjoy the game. Coaches are volunteers with a current Working with Children Card, have attended a Foundation Coaching Course as a minimum and regularly undertake further training.
All coaches are expected to abide by Netball Victoria’s Code of Behaviour.
We welcome enquiries by anyone interested in becoming a coach. Coaching workshops are run often and there are many resources available online. If you are interested information on coaching training please contact Melissa Hillman for further information.
Training is an important part of playing netball; all players develop skills and relationships during training sessions. Please ensure your child attends training at the allocated time and place. It is an expectation that our members show respect to our coaches and focus on participating during their coaching sessions.
If the coach is a junior coach it is required that a team manager (holding a current working with children’s check) or mentoring coach will need to be present for each training session.
Training is held at several venues including Parktone Primary, St Brigid’s Primary and Kilbreda Secondary.
Starting times are either 4pm or 4.30pm and go for 60 minutes.
Training days and venues for Autumn 2017 to be advised.
